TOM YUM

Tom Yum is a hot and sour Thai soup with a rich aroma of herbs and spices. It is prepared on the basis of broth with lemongrass, galangal and lime leaves, with the addition of shrimp, mushrooms, chili and lime juice. One of the most famous soups of Southeast Asia.

Classic Tom Yum (Tom Yum Kung variant — with shrimp):
– Shrimp (or chicken, fish, seafood)
– Broth (chicken or fish)
– Galangal (a root similar to ginger)
– Lemongrass
– Kaffir lime leaves
– Champignons or oyster mushrooms
– Chili (fresh or chili paste — Nam Prik Pao)
– Fish sauce
– Lime juice
– Coconut milk
– Cilantro (for serving)

Served hot, often with rice.
